PHOTOGRAPHY.

Photography has been a hobby of mine for a long time and I loved being able to do it as part of my A Level projects and then gain a more in technical and theoretical understanding whilst at Uni.

Before Uni, I mostly only took photos of my own pets and other animals. My love for animals made this photography really fulfilling and I still enjoy it today. To the left are recent photos of my new kitten Obi (Obi Wan Kenobi), he makes the perfect pet model.

FIRST YEAR PROJECT.

Unfortunately, my first year of Uni was spend in lockdown during Covid. This meant that I had to get quite creative with my photography as we weren't allowed to use any of the studios or Uni equipment. For this project, we were given specific briefs to work to. All of these photos were taken on my iPhone 11 and edited on Photoshop. The self portrait (top right) was by far the hardest to do, trying to use my LED bedroom fairy lights and a lamp covered with a red piece of paper to create an interesting light setting. It was also hard to try to take a good photo while trying to pose for the photo.

The bottom left photo is one that I am really proud of, this was actually taken on the floor of my tiny Uni halls en suit shower with a cheap neon sign that I bought from Primark. Taking photos in any sort of low light can be challenging and so it came down to the editing to get the photo right.

SECOND YEAR PROJECT.

My second year project was a study on shadows and refraction. I found obscure and unusual objects to shine coloured lights through on a blank canvas. The top left photo is by far my favourite of the project, I love the contrast of the metal bars and the round shape of the light cutting through.
